Following Pushkin

During the excursion, you will visit all the places which were of great importance and even life-changing for Pushkin. You will see the house where the new poet – a graduate of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum - lived. You will get to know where he met Anna Kern, what caused the outburst of emotions in Pushkin and triggered him to write the famous poem «I keep in mind that magic moment».

The future Decembrists and the young writers gathered in the house of Vsevolozhsky. This society was named «Green Lamp» («Zelenaya Lampa» in Russian). Pushkin shared the ideas of his friends and was a welcome guest here.

Famous house on Moika

The house on Moika, 12 is truly considered to be the most «Pushkin» place. The poet lived here only for a few months. However, these months became final, and they were as a bright flash before fading. Today this place houses the world-famous museum-apartment of A. S. Pushkin. Many tourists, including foreign ones, come here to understand better the passionate personality of the great poet and discover some elements of his everyday life.

Nearby, on Nevsky prospect 18, there is a building that once housed a famous pastry shop. It was from here that Pushkin, accompanied by his second, departed for a duel. Today the granite obelisk with a bronze bas-relief of the deceased poet stands on the fatal place on The Chernaya river. The Svyatogorsky Monastery became the last refuge of Pushkin.
