Book a table at Russian Ampir Restaurant
The Russian Ampir Restaurant can well be referred to as one more point of interest of St. Petersburg. Not without reason is it often called a restaurant-museum.
The Russian Ampir is located in the ancient Palace of the Count Stroganov. Specialists in reconstruction of historical interiors and professional restorers were engaged in creating a restaurant. They conducted large-scale renovation works which resulted in a place that citizens and guests of St. Petersburg can enjoy now.
The inner decor of the halls consists of rare vintage furniture and unique pieces of interior. All of them are made of fine wood in combination with unparalleled finishing materials. The atmosphere leaves no space for unsuitable elements - there are only originals or exact copies of the museum exhibits here. All of the halls have their own style, special serving and name:
The Armorial Hall
Hall of Orders
For guests of the restaurant tables are being served with gilded cutlery, Bohemian glass goblets and luxurious utensils made of porcelain just as in times of the Count. Unlike in museums, there are no exhibits you can’t touch. You can sit on unique sofas of the Count and have a taste of gorgeous wine just from Stroganov’s wine vault out of wine glass with the finest inlay.
At the Russian Ampir, connoisseurs are offered delicacies from tsarist cuisine. All the meals here are cooked by the top-level Chef who uses antique recipes out of a cookery book from the Winter Palace. Meals once served to tsars and noblemen are now available to every guest of the restaurant.
Luxuriant wines and secrets of the Courtyard
The wine vaults of the restaurant are famous for the extraordinary rare wines and Armagnac collection, which can be tasted if desired. Just before having lunch or a dinner you will be offered to discover the secret places of the restaurant and go downstairs to a wine vault. After you finish your meal you will have the unique opportunity to visit the small palace hotel and to spend a night in a luxurious sleeping room under brick vaults.
Visiting the Russian Ampir Restaurant, you will become a part of Stroganovs’ family fate story and will literally feel a taste of the era.
