Book a table at Claret Restaurant (Claret Cafe)
The Claret Cafe is a stylish restaurant conveying the spirit of Southern European Restaurants. It is located in the very heart of the Northern Capital not very far from the Nevsky Prospect (on Marata Street). The very name of the restaurant speaks for itself and positions it as a wine place. Claret is a red wine originating from Bordeaux, France.
Marsala and deep shades of wine are mirrored in the inner decor of the place. Once Khristovsky family restaurant was founded on this very place by madam Khristovskaya after the death of her husband major general Khristovsky. At that time some changes were made to the building by the invited artist of the new baroque, A. Lange.
Today’s atmosphere echoes the spirit of that time to a large extent: the vintage wooden furniture, the parquet made of black wood, exotic chandeliers and antique floor lamps, black and white photos and prints telling stories of the past. One cannot but spend a pleasant pastime during a romantic date, a get-together with friends, a family dinner or even a business meeting in such an elegant interior.
Local cooks offer you a wide range of dishes each of which represents a masterpiece of a separate world cuisine: the European, the French, the Russian and the Italian. In the Claret Cafe each and every guest from the savvy connoisseur to the real epicure will find something to fit his or her taste. Exquisite dishes will be accompanied by the gorgeous wines which can be found here in abundance.
