Aurora Palace

The “Aurora Palace” Theatre is one of the most beautiful in Saint Petersburg. It is situated in the heart of historical Petersburg. Its foyer has a wonderful panoramic view at the St. Isaac Cathedral, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace and Neva. The theatre is named after the cruiser “Aurora”, which could be seen from theatre’s windows before the reconstruction.

In “Aurora Palace” you should certainly attend performances by the “Russian Ballet” theatre. In February and March the troupe will be performing at the theatre of Hermitage. There is always full house for “The Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, “Giselle”, “Shopeniana”, “Paquita”.

The “Swan Lake” of the Petersburg theatre “Russian Ballet” is leading the top-5 ballet performances. Theatregoers are constantly interested in the gala-show “The Golden Century of Petersburg Ballet”, held in “Aurora Palace”.

Theatre peculiarities

How to get an autograph? The theatre has a tradition to hold meetings with premiers and dancers. You can also buy playbills and cards with autographs in the souvenir shop of the theatre.

Where to have a snack? There is a restaurant in the theatre, so you can order a dinner or buffet (before the performance or in the intermission). Very often the symphonic quartet accompanies the arrival of guests as well as the event itself.

Children in the theatre. Little ones (under 4 years old) may attend the theatre free of charge, if they don’t take a separate seat.

The exteriors of “Aurora Palace” are decorated with the mosaic panel “Hymn to the city” and a row of golden korai against the blue background. Theatre’s hall is dressed with pictural pieces. Spacious hall has no expressly rich fit-out.

Comfort is in focus here. Convenient and neat seats, organized as amphitheater, bring perfect view for every spectator. Key and additional lightning are quite circumspect. The only disadvantage is absence of air-conditioning.
